From the Principal's Desk
In the construction of the nation’s future, teacher training institutions have the most significant contribution in upgrading knowledge/education providers. Primary education is the foundation of the country’s future, and the responsibility of training the teachers who lay this foundation rests at the district level with the District Education and Training Institutes.
It is well-known that the quality of education is currently declining. Teachers are also responsible for this to some extent. There are teachers in the community who are unable to accept teaching as a service. Most of the trainees who are receiving training do not wish to enter the teaching profession voluntarily but are pursuing training as an option for employment. However, the National Education Policy 2020 has attempted to curb the influx of the unemployed into the teaching field.
As the head of the institution, my primary responsibility is to develop such sentiments in teachers and trainees that they can accept the teaching profession as a service. I aim to instill such moral values in them that they consider it a sin to eat without fulfilling their duties. Their dedication to their duties should influence society to such an extent that the ancient respect for teachers can be restored. This would enable teachers to make their full contribution to the best development of individuals and society. Teachers should continuously develop themselves as learners in the changing environment.
About Us
Transforming Education: DIET Gorakhpur’s Legacy of Excellence in Teacher Training and Innovation, Inspired by Historical Figures like Munshi Premchand.

Our History
Under the in-service division, training for teachers working in pre-primary, primary, upper primary, and secondary schools is successfully conducted from time to time. Under the pre-service division, 200 D.El.Ed. trainees receive training in each batch. Activities such as curriculum review and development, module development, book reviews, innovative learning, remedial teaching, TLM fairs, ICT competitions, yoga competitions, stress management, safety and security, and subject-based training are continuously conducted. Last year, the institute received five new classrooms and an auditorium (Guru Gorakhnath), which are being used continuously. With the recommendation of the government/department as a Center for Excellence, its continuous development is taking place.
The geographical area of the institute is quite large. Its history is not only connected with teaching and training but also with many educationists, social workers, freedom fighters, and people associated with the field of education. Munshi Premchand wrote his famous stories 'Eidgah' and 'Two Bullocks' here. The first principal of the institute, Mrs. Rajeshwari Kumari (in-charge), served from 17.07.1993 to 30.06.1995, and the current Deputy Director of Education/Principal is Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pandey (in-charge).
our Mission
Our mission is to elevate education quality through innovative teacher training, ongoing development, and a supportive learning environment, empowering educators to excel and positively impact future generations.
